Decimals Games Online Free
Find the decimal that makes 1, count tenths, multiply decimals by 10 and 100, and add tenths across a whole number.
Type answers on your keyboard, or tap the number pad.
Practise these again:
What are tenths and hundredths?
The first digit after the decimal point counts tenths and the second counts hundredths. 0.35 is 3 tenths and 5 hundredths, or 35 hundredths. Ten tenths make 1, so 0.3 + 0.7 = 1, just like number bonds to 10.
Multiplying by 10 moves every digit one place to the left: 2.4 × 10 = 24. That’s the same idea as multiplying by 10, 100 and 1000 with whole numbers.

Tips for decimals
Decimal bonds to 1 are number bonds in disguise: 0.6 + 0.4 = 1 because 6 + 4 = 10.
For hundredths, use bonds to 100: 0.35 + 0.65 = 1 because 35 + 65 = 100.
When tenths add up to more than 10, carry 1 whole: 0.8 + 0.5 = 1.3.
Decimals questions and answers
How do I type a decimal answer?
You don’t need to. Each question asks for the missing digits, like the □ in 0.3 + 0.□ = 1, so the answer is always a whole number.
What grade learns decimals?
Tenths are introduced in grade 4 and hundredths soon after. Multiplying decimals by 10 and 100 is usually grade 5.
