How do you convert units of measurement?

Learn how many small units are in one big unit, then multiply to go from big to small and divide to go from small to big. 1 m = 100 cm, so 3 m = 300 cm and 400 cm = 4 m.

Metric units go up in 10s, 100s and 1000s, so they use the same skills as multiplying by 10, 100 and 1000. US units like 12 inches in a foot use the times tables.
